1959 Chevrolet Bel Air
The 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air. The car of dreams, the fanciest thing alive. At the time, the Bel Air was considered to be the greatest of all cars, until that is, the Corvette cam along. The Bel Air was comfortable, sexy, and quick. The three things everyone wanted in a car. It's not like the Bel Air was the inspiration for the 20th century, but it sure was the highlight of the 1950s. Now, let's talk about the body... the Bel Air had a fancy front end with flashy headlights on badazzling fenders, the grill was so popular that the 1958 Apache copied it. The rear end, the best it could be. The "backwards pyramid" design with long hilted headlights sure brought the car to the top of its class. Wite wall tires were a must for all cars in that era, but the Bl Air wore them with shine, and left a glamorous mark on American vehicle history.
